Opinion: Tucker Carlson and Modern-day Quislings
https://www.kyivpost.com/opinion/27659
A quisling is someone who collaborates with an enemy force while it is occupying their own country. It is named after Vidkun Quisling, the former Minister of Defense in Norway. Quisling was a Nazi collaborator who had responsibilities for overseeing the government of his country. A quisling can also be known as a quirk, both words are used more frequently in Europe than the United States. That usage should change with the profusion of quislings like Tucker Carlson and Mike Johnson. Carlson, happily on his path to becoming a patsy and spokesperson for Vladimir Putin, just left Canada after meeting with the ultra-conservative Premiere of Alberta, Danielle Smith. Is it any wonder that a week after those meetings she would come out with hateful legislation attacking LGBTQI+ people in her own province?

How the Far Right Took Over a Pennsylvania School Board—And How Parents Took It Back
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/far-right-pennsylvania-school-board
The actions of parents in this school district could become a road map for taking back the direction of school boards across the US (and soon Canada) in order to keep them from banning books and promoting a revisionist history that would make students into the least informed, most ignorant, misinformed, children in the world.

'We're terrified': Hundreds rally in support of Alberta trans community, opposition to coming government gender policies
Once again, we should point to Tucker Carlson for visiting Alberta and spewing hatred that will cause the deaths of young people legitimately exploring their personal identity during their adolescence.

Rep. Jim Clyburn frames election as choice between 'loud noise' and 'quiet diplomacy'
Rep. Jim Clyburn knows a great deal about racism and ‘loud noise.’ Having been a leader of the civil rights movement since the 1960’s. Clyburn, who served as majority whip from 2007 to 2018, knows the people who lead with their actions and the people who confounded with their words. Clyburn was pivotal in saving the campaign of Joe Biden when it was on the ropes during his primary run. Many people believe that it was his “quiet diplomacy” that garnered the black vote for the Biden campaign which put Biden back at the top of the democratic primary pack.

What is Christian nationalism and why it raises concerns about threats to democracy
PBS is my favorite news channel because of its unbiased reporting and lack of corporate influence. Unlike Fox, it offer news, not opinions, on current world events. This article, by stellar reporters, Laura Barrón-Lopez and Sam Lane, is a wonderful example of their insightful reporting. If, you were unsure of how much Christian Nationalism is trying to take over American politics, this article will help guide your opinion. Thank you, PBS.

We’re hurting, Elmo: Why so many of us just cried on a Muppet’s shoulder
Who would have thought that such a simple tweet by a Sesame Street character would have made this much of an impact? It truly shows how much American is hurting and seeking respite from the politics of division today.
